WARNING THIS VIDEO IS ARMED AND DANGEROUS.  You will need to have your acumen skills in order to understand the true meaning. The words of the song match the story.  Hosea and Jacob were men, which God chose their wives. Genesis Chapters 26-37. This story has a melee of dysfunctional behaviors in it, but God permitted it to happen.

The story was impressed upon me to share with you, but I was not sure, until, I watched a video earlier today.  It helped to confirm that this was God, and he wanted to get a message out to those of us that suffer with commitment phobias, and are reluctant to share these things with people, so we buy a cat or a dog instead.

God controlled their lives in such a way, that they had to do it the way God wanted his plan to work in their lives.  In some ways, I became sad, because you realize that God is super awesome, and at a designated time, he can use anybody, anywhere, any place for anything. This story should allow you to get up and brush yourselves off and realize the Grace of God, and pray that he heals you from ever crevice that may house any hurt, hate or bitterness and distrust.  The writer intends for this story to heal whatever ails you.

The first man is Jacob, the son of Isaac, and the twin to Esau his brother.  He was a cunning man.  The prophecy came forth that the older shall serve the younger.  Jacob and his mother Rachel tricked her husband Isaac, and to give the birthright to the younger son, Jacob. The word Jacob found in the Hebrew/Aramaic dictionary and is spelled (Yaaqob) and pronounced (yah-ak-obe) word meaning heel-catcher.

Jacob had shrewdness and we might call it a Swagger in this hour, but his disposition was not pure, and he did not have a right spirit.  As you can see, he had a few dysfunctional issues to deal with in his house- hold as well.  In other words, he had conditioned himself to operate his heart on auto- pilot.  He did not have to feel anything, but remember how to do everything and practice it without committing his heart.

His mother, Rebekah, did not help matters in his life, because she favored one son over the other.  When Jacob was about the age of seventeen, his father, Isaac, blessed Jacob in the place of Esau, and told him to go to Padanaram to take him a wife.  Isaac did not know that he had blessed the wrong child, but the Child knew it. Jacob left with the blessings from his home to go to his uncle’s home, and along the way God spoke to him through a dream and told him that he would be blessed with land and all of his seed.  What do you know the woman he was interested in to marry was his first cousin; Rachel (Gen.28)

The Wisdom of Jacob 

Jacob knew that God had visited him in a dream, and he rose after that the next morning and stood the stone that he used for his pillows and anointed it, and named it a new name Bethel, but it was called Luz.  He did not know what he was doing but he had learned enough from his father (Isaac) how to bless the things concerning God.  He did it without heart.  He was still crafty.  Jacob activated the process of entrepreneurship.  He set up a landmark.  He reasoned, if God loved him enough to give him a vision, and he instantly made up in his mind (Gen. 28:20-22) after all that he had done against his father and brother; he knew enough to vow a vow to God. If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, so that I can return to my Father’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me, I will surely give the tenth unto thee, and this marker shall be God’s house.

The whole time Jacob carried out these acts, he never thought anything would happen to him negatively, because he had favor, but he did not realize it was favor until he met his mother’s brother, and wanted to marry his first cousin.  People can do many kind things when their hearts are not very involved with the acts.  They will sell you a river and give you everything you need to survive on the river, but they will tuck their heart in that safe place, and will guard it with all the power they can muster.  They will encourage you, bless you, and see about you, but do not ask them for their heart, to do anything, other than the general practices they perform.  Well, as it turned out, Jacob met the woman of his dreams at his uncle Laban’s house, and his uncle had the same crafty personality as Jacob.  He told uncle Laban his plan to marry his daughter Rachel, and uncle Laban started seeing and opportunity to get free labor.  Jacob agreed to work for his beautiful wife, Rachel for seven years, but he had never met a man like himself.  Jacob’s mother had some trickery in her as well.  Jacob worked for the seven years, and he was blessed to whatever he put his hands to do, he became blessed. The favor of God was upon him, thus everything he set out to do he was blessed.  At the point of the seven years, uncle Laban gave Jacob his oldest daughter, instead of the beautiful Rachel as they agreed.  See the chip did not fall too far from this block.  Uncle Laban tricked Jacob, just as he tricked his brother (Esau) and his father Isaac. 

Mind Altering Substance Changed Jacob’s Course

Laban lied to by his sister’s son, and he is now Jacob’s father-in-law.  Uncle Laban had his family members to spike Jacobs drink so he would become drunk, thus when he lay down, he may have passed out on his wedding night.  When he awake the next morning he looked over and saw the other sister, smiling back at him, and he did like most people and went to check with the Uncle. He said, “What is this thing you have done to me”?  The real question was how did he let this happen? Had he taken his wedding more seriously with heart, he would have never missed this.  It ought to be something about the people you are trying to marry that you should recognize as a key point of the reason you chose them in the first place.  He failed to follow through, but God was with him, and he sobered up and manned up. He became a man with a  business plan, and he and God used the contingency strategy to work a business plan with his uncle.  God was with him, and Jacob went back and worked another seven years for the woman he wanted.  In the meantime, Jacob still had the same trait in him, and he tricked his Uncle as he attended the cattle he kept the good and healthy and gave his uncle the sick cattle. When he left, his uncle was saddened to see him go, because fourteen years had passed. He had the best shepherd and son-in-law that he did not have to pay labor, and he changed his wages ten times (Gen. 31).

The Matter of the Heart

Jacob was reconciled back to God as he experienced the treatment of his mother’s brother. Twenty years of his life was learning how to become a God fearing man driven to succeed.  Yet his stony heart was changing.  He finally acknowledged God as his God, and he realized that he did not deserve the blessings that God allowed him to achieve, and he was restore back with his family.  The heart takes us through many changes when we refuse to come clean.  The enemy only needs a small crack to have a strong holds on our lives.  We function every day just like Jacob, and pretend that everything is fine, in fact, we are hope no one can see our true hurts and our pain.  We stand in great business meetings, and travel the country, but our heart needs healing.  I John 4:18, there is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.  Jacob was not made perfect in love, until he received forgiveness, and he apologized for his sins.  God chose that life pattern for Jacob him, and he showed him the error of his ways. 

Hosea the Prophet

Unlike Jacob’s story, the other man was a Prophet Hosea. The word Hosea is spelled Howshea, and pronounces (ho-shay’ah.  Its meaning is a prim root; He was a good brother,

Hosea was a prophet who lived and prophesied just before the destruction of Israel in 722 BC. He preached to the northern kingdom. Throughout the book, you will see that he refers to Israel and Ephraim. Ephraim was the largest tribe in Israel and sometimes the whole nation was referred to as Ephraim.

Hosea's Marriage (1:2-3:5)

Hosea was commanded by God to take a wife who was a prostitute as an example of God's relationship with Israel.  God sent him to pick her out, but he chose her background.  Hosea was to manifest God's patience and love. Gomer (Hebrew word) meaning completion and pronounced (GO-mer). God named their three children, and every name meant something seemingly negative.  We say, what is in a name?  The first child’s name meant (I will avenge the blood), the second child’s name meant I will no more have mercy), and the third child’s name meant (for ye are not my people and I will not be your God). God allowed Hosea to continue to love this wife the whole, time to demonstrate to us the long cords of love he uses to reconcile us back to him through Christ Jesus. He showed mercy and restored the woman back to Hosea, after she was old and bewildered.  This truly had to be a hard row to hoe for the Prophet Hosea. I am sure he was on Auto Pilot a lot in this marriage.  I realize that God did restore Hosea’s wife back to God (Hosea 3:14-23).  I wanted to use this story in a modern way of thinking, but I figured this story speaks for itself.  God is God, and before I try to figure figured out how did this woman or Hosea stand chance in this marriage is beyond me.  Yet this is still the mind of God.

The Heart had to transition for change.  If you are blessed to find that special someone that you cannot live without, because they can finish your last sentence, pray you through and build your inter person, and they must Love God more than they love you, then you may have a marriage.

Summation

The “good brothers”, as they are called, are advised not to be so anxious, because it supposedly cause you to look weaken.  Let God lead you to what you need, and not what you want to need.  God will tell you what he has in store for you, and in some cases he will pick what type he wants you to have.  Remember, if you are is still have a stony heart, become more like Jacob, and get a plan.  He found God, or I should say God favored him to become a man driven to succeed.  He manned up and turned out to be all right.
